After lamenting the loss of great and hard-to-replace polo shirts of years past, life-long friends and Criquet Shirts co-founders, Billy Nachman and Hobson Brown, set out on the quest to find the perfect shirt. Guided by memories of well-worn hand-me-downs from dads, uncles and others, they spared no effort to find it. In the end, unable to track down this elusive prize, they did what any two enterprising young men would do. They set out to design it and make it on our own. Called “The Perfect Polo” by Details Magazine and “The New Old School Shirt” by The Wall Street Journal, Criquet’s vintage-inspired shirts have become wardrobe staples at bars, tailgates, backyard BBQs and wherever else good men congregate around town.
To Billy and Hobson, the spirit of the “19th Hole” is what Criquet’s ultimately all about. And it’s not just found at a golf course. It’s wherever and whenever you’re most at ease. Could be a cold beer at Deep Eddy Cabaret or a relaxing afternoon at Barton Springs. Or simply the backyard of the Clubhouse. Austin is full of 19th Holes. Here are some of their favorites.
